Well, I am currently in Dubai on a short business trip While here I will be present at a FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) of one out of five gas compression modules for our oil & gas production facility project.
I have not been to Dubai since 1998 and boy have this place changed. They are building everywhere. They are right now building the highest building in the world. They have built a huge indoor skiing resort thing and are building shopping malls the size of small towns! Of course I also need to mention Burj Al Arab, the only 7 Star hotel in the world. That building is just fantastic and not to forget their palm island projects and the Earth islands project. Money seems to be plentfull here!
Above is one out of five gas compression units comprising of a gas compressor driven by a gas engine and a cooling unit in the end (the grey part to the left). The whole unit weighs about 400-450 ton.
Above is the 7 star hotel Burj Al Arab. Up close it is very impressive. Room rates starts at about 1000 USD / Night.
Me playing the tourist on Jumairah Beach in front of this magnificent hotel.
Above it little look down part of Jumairah Beach.
Above is a picture of what is going to become the tallest building in the world. I am not sure yet what the name is going to be but I believe that it is already taller than Taipei 101 in Taiwan.
Its close by not quite Bin Laden......maybe a distant cousin
