President for a day

Jan's Daily NotesPosted by Jan H. Oersnaes 2007-11-05 04:32PM

This weekend we drove from Subic to Angeles City Saturday and checked in to the Angeles Beach Club Hotel (www.angelesbeachclubhotel.com).

I had decided to make the weekend a bit special so I had booked the Presidential Suite for an overnight stay.

We arrived around 1.30 PM at the hotel and without really knowing what to expect we checked in and had a small army of helpers assisting us in carrying 1 suitcase, 1 backpack and two small bags to our room. It turned out that there were only two rooms on the top floor: The Penthouse Suite and the Presidential Suite.

Opening the door and stepping into the suite was not like anything I have ever done before. The suite consists of a very large living room with 3 large sofa's, a dinning table for four persons, various cabinets and a rather large flat TV (not in the pictures) as may be seen on the pictures below

Outside was a terrace the size that can even compete with the terrace in our house in Samar.

The suite was equipped with a large bathroom containing a large jacuzzi with the possibility of watching DVD movies, a massage shower cabin with a small sauna attached, a toilet, a bidet and two sinks. Furthermore the suite has an additional toilet.

The bedroom was equipped with probably the largest bed I have ever slept in. I think 4-5 adults could have slept in that bed at the same time.

The suite also contained a small office facility with a computer, phone and fax.

Obviously we did not leave the suite during our stay but had all our meals brought up as room service. Why waste the space of a good terrace when you can sit outside and enjoy your dinner and breakfast.

The room apparently also came with some complimentary things like a large bottle of white wine in a wine cooler and a large tray of fruits.

We enjoyed the stay and I think Isabella did too. Our nanny (Girlie's aunt) had a problem believing that a hotel had rooms like this. The only downside came when it was time to settle the bill. I chipped up 385 USD for one night but on the other hand, a little luxury now and then is invigorating. I think we may make this a monthly event...at least as long as I am working in Subic.

Hej Vamse,
